Rafting or jungle tubing on the Ayung — name your water with Ubud Quad Bike Rafting
· Field note · 6 min read
Every trail pairs with Ayung River rafting on class II and III rapids, or jungle tubing. Name the water when you enquire.
Whichever ATV trail you pick — Kuber, Temple Run, Barong Cave, Gorilla Face, or Gorilla Statue — the day finishes on the Ayung River. There is one more choice to make before we hold your morning: rafting or jungle tubing. This note is that choice, written the way we explain it on the phone.
Both options sit on the same day, with the same lunch, showers, lockers, English-speaking guides, and round-trip hotel transfers. Neither is the lite version. They are simply two different ways to be on the water after the mud.
What rafting on the Ayung feels like
Rafting runs class II and III rapids. You paddle as a crew with a guide steering from the back, past waterfalls, cliff faces, and carved stone walls along the gorge. Helmets and life jackets are provided. Expect to get soaked and to work a little on the paddle when the guide calls it.
Rafting suits groups who want the river to be as lively as the ATV ride: friends, couples, and families who are happy in moving water.
If you want spray and paddling together, choose rafting. If you want to float and look up at the jungle, choose tubing.
What jungle tubing feels like
Jungle tubing is the other river option on the same day. Instead of a crew raft, you sit in your own tube and drift through the jungle at an easier pace, with guides on the water alongside you. It is the quieter way to finish, with more time to look at the canopy than to paddle.
Tubing suits guests who want the river without the work of a raft, or who want a calmer end after a long ATV trail.
